Gaillardia x grandiflora 'Mesa Yellow' is commonly referred to as Mesa Yellow Blanket Flower. Mesa Yellow is a herbaceous perennial with bright yellow daisy-like flowers which give way to showy globe-shaped seed heads. It blooms from early to late summer, about 2-3 weeks earlier than other varieties and retains their vibrant color throughout the season. Flowers attract a multitude of butterflies and other pollinators. It has a well-branched, strong, upright habit.
Mesa Yellow Gaillardia thrives in full sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is easy to care for and ideal for sunny perennial borders, cottage and butterfly gardens and make a great cut flower.
